The prolific Colby Fayock joins us to chat Jamstack, Ecommerce, Prismic, and Next.js! He walks us through how to create a shop on the Jamstack with Snipcart, and it's easier than I thought!
It turns out we can use a headless CMS like Prismic to store our items, then deploy a static site, and the SnipCart JS handles the shopping experience for our users. We just add a few tags to the data we want to pass to SnipCart and we get a shopping cart on our site, and we can now take secure payments without needing to run something like Shopify or WooCommerce.
We use Prismic and Next.js here, but this would work with other CMS's like Contentful or Sanity. It'd also work with Gatsby, Nuxt, Astro, or even Eleventy! It's great getting to build with the tools I already know and love. We use Colby's useSnipcart React hook to make things a bit easier.
